Competition update for 2021 season important!!

Welcome to 2021 Golf Season

Hello, finally we are able to get back to playing golf as 3 or 4 balls and think about running some competitions with limitations from April onwards.  Due to the current government restrictions with regards to the clubhouse and professional shop we have had to amend the start to the golfing season and also how we can run our competitions until restrictions are lifted.  An amended fixture list is now available on the website….or will be very soon.

Until the restrictions are fully lifted and we get the go ahead from Scottish Golf we will be running Pro Sweeps for the initial few weeks on what would have been competition days.  We have decided not to open with the 3 man Texas Scramble for the Gents, but that may be rescheduled for later in the season. For Gents, Saturday times between 7.15am & 4pm will be reserved for the sweeps where play will be in 3 balls.  Times after 4pm will be made available for casual golf.  Booking will be a continuation of what we are doing presently with the booking sheet opening on a Friday at 6pm, and at that point only times after 4pm will be released for general play.  The Pro Sweep slots will be available from the Sunday at 1pm as was the case last season.  The sweeps won’t involve a ballot and player 1 will still control the slots…but only until the Tuesday before the event when remaining spaces in 3 balls may be filled from a reserve list maintained by the pro shop.  The Senior section will also operate sweeps in the 1st few weeks of the season.  Play will be allowed in 3 balls.  The Ladies section and Junior Sections will resume as per the fixtures.

We will be using the Pro Sweeps to “trial” signing in and score entry via the howdidido app on your phone.  An instruction will be given, but early indications are that it is fairly straight forward.  Last season’s arrangement where scores were input by shop staff/volunteers will still be available for those who do not have smartphone access.

Assuming the course conditions allow, these sweeps will count for handicapping purposes.
