PHASE 2 – Easing of restrictions

Today the Scottish Government confirmed that Phase 2 in their route map is effective from June 19th.  Scottish Golf have already issued their guidance and this has already been discussed in anticipation and, taking in to account feedback from members and from other courses, we have decided to adopt the following changes:

Firstly, it is important to remind you that all of the social distancing guidelines continue to be relevant and must be adhered to….this means turn up 5 minutes before your time, still no rakes in bunkers, no touching flags, only touch your own scorecard etc….Most important in this situation is that all golfers must have booked a tee slot prior to playing, thereis still no walk on golf.

From Saturday June 20th  our booking system will now accommodate 3 ball play in line with today’s relaxation of the guidelines.  For the time being our booking system will still go live at 6pm the evening before play is being booked for and still only one slot will be able to be booked per tee time.  The member who secures a slot can then nominate/invite up to 2 further members to give a maximum of 3 players.  The booking system will then allow for slots 2 and 3 for each tee time to be booked online from 8.30 pm the night before play.  Remember slots 2 and 3 can only be booked if the slot 1 member agrees.  This is to make things easier for administration and to maintain our obligations to the track and trace system in operation by the Scottish Government.

From Monday June 22nd members can bring a guest (or 2 guests) Monday to Friday only.If they have a tee time booked but 3 balls are still the maximum allowed.

We have decided to leave the interval between tee times at 8 minutes, but we will watch this closely when 3 balls start to ensure hold ups are avoided on the course.  Also the restrictions on the number of games per week for members remains in place but will be reviewed next week when we assess these changes.

Finally, competition golf will not start just yet but more in depth discussion will take place in the coming week and this will be on the agenda.  Thank to members who have submitted suggestions like the golfhubber app…all will be looked as we decide the way forward.

Stay Safe
